Who we are

Last Cast Fly Co. started long before there was ever an idea of selling flies.

For as long as I can remember, trout fishing has been a part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are sitting in a camping chair beside a Colorado lake with my grandma, a spinning rod in hand, bait in the water, and time moving slower than it ever seems to now. She taught me patience, how to enjoy the quiet moments, and that fishing wasn’t just about catching something — it was about being there.

Those days planted something that never left.

Later in life, a buddy showed me fly fishing and opened the door to a completely different way of approaching trout. Fly fishing wasn’t just a new method — it was a deeper connection to the water. It demanded observation, intention, and problem solving. Every cast had purpose, and every drift told a story.

Fly tying followed naturally. I’ve always enjoyed making things with my hands, and tying my own flies became an extension of that mindset. It started as a way to create flies I trusted — dialing patterns, adjusting proportions, and refining details until they fished exactly how I wanted them to.

Over time, those flies earned their place through real days on the water. Eventually, friends started asking for them. Then friends of friends. What began as tying for myself slowly turned into something worth sharing.

Every fly from Last Cast Fly Co. is hand-tied in small batches and tested through actual fishing, not theory at the vise. If a pattern doesn’t perform consistently, it doesn’t make the cut. No filler flies. No mass production. Just proven patterns built with intention.

Last Cast Fly Co. is about more than flies. It’s about time spent fishing, learning through experience, and respecting the process. These are the same flies I trust when the water is tough, the trout are selective, and the last cast of the day matters most.

Thanks for being here.
